At Chabad of Kenya, we believe that the future of the Jewish people begins with the education of our youngest members. That’s why we established Gan Chana – a warm, loving Jewish preschool where children grow through values, experiences, learning, and joy in a professional and Torah-centered environment.
Gan Chana is currently the only Jewish educational framework of its kind in Kenya, providing a vital space for Jewish education for local families living in Nairobi and the surrounding area.
The preschool operates five days a week for our children, and during local school holidays, children from the wider Jewish community are warmly invited to join in a rich, meaningful educational experience – filled with Hebrew language, Jewish values, and loving Israeli-Jewish atmosphere.
The curriculum blends engaging Jewish content – Parshat HaShavua, Jewish holidays, Hebrew letters, values and stories – together with art, music, movement, play, and discovery.
🎉 Throughout the year, we also host special children's events for the entire community, including:
🥨 Matza Bakery – an interactive Passover experience.
🕎 Hanukkah Festival – candle lighting, donut decorating, and menorah building.
🍰 Shavuot Celebration – dairy party, storytelling of Mount Sinai, and fun holiday crafts.
🌸 Shabbat gatherings, holiday events, storytime, and more...
Each activity is an opportunity to create sweet memories and build a deep, joyful connection to Jewish identity –
all in a vibrant, meaningful, and Jewish environment right here in the heart of Africa.
